JUAL SAFETY OUTLET
Get insights into how you, by using JUAL's thoroughly tested emergency drainage products with proven drainage capacity, can meet the guidelines set by the Danish Building and Planning Agency for preventing damages and roof collapses in large halls and buildings.
One of the consequences of climate change is the occurrence of larger volumes of rainfall in shorter periods. This places new demands on rooftop emergency drainage systems, where it is no longer sufficient to have an old-fashioned downpipe positioned above the main entrance, spraying water on the director's head, when there is too much water on the roof.
The old-fashioned downpipe is a thing of the past, and with the Danish Building and Planning Agency's new guidelines, it is important for you as a consulting engineer, architect or building owner to incorporate safety outlet systems in your construction projects, whether it be new builds or major renovations.
BENEFITS WITH SAFETY OUTLET
With JUAL safety outlet products on your roof, your construction project complies with new guidelines established to prevent severe damages and roof collapses caused by accumulated water.
Our roof outlets with water level rings have been tested according to EN1253-2, and our safety outlet products have undergone thorough testing at our own testing center.
This means that we can provide documentation of the drainage capacity and ensure an effective and safety solution, that meets the requirements for safety outlets in your construction or renovation project.
WHAT IS SAFETY OUTLET?
When you install a JUAL safety outlet, you ensure that the roof is not overloaded with accumulated water, and that the water does not overflow from the roof edges.
The safety outlet operates independently of the regular drainage system and comes into action when there is water accumulation on the roof, that the regular drains cannot handle.
This can be due to blockages caused by leaves or ice, or because the drainage system is overwhelmed.

It is worth mentioning that the first roof outlet well should be placed no more than 7.2 meters from the gable, while the maximum distance to the next one should be 14.4 meters. As a rule, you should establish one safety outlet for every two regular drains.
NEW CONSTRUCTION OR RENOVATION PROJECT?
If you are working on a new construction project, the required drainage capacity for the roof is typically already specified. As one of the few manufacturers worldwide, we have the documented knowledge about the drainage capacity of our various solutions in terms of liters per second and the square meter area each outlet can handle.
For renovation projects, you have options such as retrofitting a parapet outlet or increasing the drainage capacity by adding Ø90 bowl outlet to an existing Ø110 roof outlet. This operation is relatively straightforward because you use the existing pipes.
